14 days
I will leave Jogjakarta for 14 days. We have a video diary project in Indramayu-West Java, for female teenagers there. The place is very far from the main road. And i don't think that i could access internet easily. So, i will miss this page for a few days. And i hope, it would be a nice experience i will get there.

Ciao,

Vintage, ethnic, second hand clothes
Here is the list of my 'things to buy' .
The price is cheap enough.
Found it in the traditional Market (Bringharjo)
and in a shop called "Awu-awul"(Javanese word for a bunch of trash). They just put the clothes on the floor, and you can pick them!

Sunday afternoon
Yesterday i was spent my afternoon with my friend, Dian at Via Via Cafe in Jogja. It located in the small street near tourist area, Prawirotaman. Along the street you could see galleries (antiques, souvenirs), small hotels or b&b, and of course coffee shops. It's so relaxing your eyes and mind. We ride our bike. And ordered fried tempe with ice tea... not coffee for today, because the better coffee it's not available here (my taste, of course...). I prefer macchiato or cappuccino, but the best coffee there is Black Coffee. A traditional one, called Kopi Tubruk (Kopi means Coffee). We were talking and talking..... until it was dark enough to decide to go home.......
Today is a working day again......

FRAGILE
If blood will flow when fresh and steel are one
Drying in the colour of the evening sun
Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away
But something in our minds will always stay
Perhaps this final act was meant
To clinch a lifetime's argument
That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could
For all those born beneath an angry star
Lest we forget how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are
How fragile we are how fragile we are
Drying in the colour of the evening sun
Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away
But something in our minds will always stay

Try to read the lyric one by one. It means so deep. Don't you think so?

a Good Ending
Saturday must be a day for relaxing. But not today.
Yes, OK, i woke up at 10 am. Was dreaming that Mbak Ani who always helps me with clothes washing came in front of my house, and called me screamingly : "Mbak Lila, mbak Lila....". But i thought it was a dream, so i continued my sleep. Lately she called, and she was at my house this morning. Haha... i'm too exhausted to realize that was real.
This afternoon i spent my time with computer. Finishing the report. Then the next week 'Things To Do' list.
Next create a simple modul for video diary.
And today, Udin and Kiki ask me to help them to be a welcoming person in the monthly program at Kinoki.
We have a docu film screening about Karang Ploso Village and Transexual life.
The duty is not too hectic. Actually, it's fun. Because i always love Kinoki. It's the place to hang around. It's not a bioskop (cinema) , nor a coffeshop. Just open the Kinoki link, i think....:)
Discussion was quiet interesting. But some people made wrong questions which not related to the topic. I was trying to ask something, so it would be back to the right topic.
The ambience today in Kinoki is different. They set one corner with 5 stone TVs and a scary statue. Elida from Kinoki said, after ours, they will have a launching album from Ella. A singer from Yogyakarta.

She met a guy in the train, and at the end he is the one who helps her in HIV test.
The sounds of Ella (she has a background story before it becomes a song lyric), Fahmi, two guitarist and one violist really make my Saturday night complete.
A good ending, though. (FYI : my boyfriend was busy with his browsing time in the office, and he refused to meet people today)

Missing
Not too busy today. My project is connected to high school students. We are facilitating them to speak up by using handycam. To make a Video Diary about their problem in school. Since they still in exam now, so... i just prepare some reports and cruising in the internet.
Suddenly i miss my friends : Lawrence, Athina and Coy. The boys are Philippino, and the girl is Polnish. But they live far away in Hamburg. Once in my life, they have became my lights. I don't know why i miss them. Maybe it's because i received an email from Nathalie. She is also a friend of ours. And she sent me their pictures in the Staadtpark, Hamburg. They had a summer bbq in the park.
I wish they could come visit me. And for sure i will tell them my stories. Show them the nice places, and introduce them my lovely and kind boyfriend.
Lately we loose contact to each other. Even in the messanger or skype or myspace.
Too bad.....
Wish you all were here guys,
Lila

Art Fest

Went to Yogyakarta Art Festival five days ago. It was stunning enough. Especially the Art Market. This artists from Yogyakarta is really creative. Handicraft, books, photos, postcards, second hand books, clothes, paintings, furnitures, Tarot cards (and she will read for you), food stand, painted tees, film, framing and sandals. A lot of them. You have to visit when you've got here in Jogjakarta.
For me, who mostly grown up in Jakarta, i found it very artistic and also calmly for Jogja's people to organize this big Festival. And the ambience is so friendly. People come for enjoying the Festival and blended with the smell of art, not only for a 'brand' that you are trendy by coming there.
There is also one room for film screening for short and docu film directed by young talented film maker.
I will share the pictures later, but on the opening day, i went there with my boyfriend.
Because it helds in a old museum called Vredeburg Museum, so we didn't waste our time to take some pictures. The object is myself. Haha....
After didn't take pictures with manual camera in a couple months, it's a refreshing for him, though. And the result is not so bad.
Salam,
lila.

Kembang sepatu
My friend, Kiki was creating this page. At 1.00 am. I thought she has nothing to do, but feeling like doing something. I felt like a client who ordered a design, and just saying "yes, no, i want this, delete that, i don't like the color, etcetera". Haha.... but i really love this page.
I promise to update for every story or word i have.
It's not too difficult to choose the name that will appear. When she asked me, it just came out in my mind. Kembang sepatu. It is Indonesian language. Or Hibiscus.
I've fallen in love with this flower since i was 12 years old and still 'in love' with it. I know that it wilted easily, but the shape is really sweet, with strong character. It always hang on the Balinese dancer's ears or in a old and ethnic building.
I live in a tropical island. We have full of sunshine, tanning and brown chicks and babes :), beaches, native traditional handicraft, vintage buildings. Those which i'm into so much.
And This Kembang Sepatu is represent all of those things.
At least on my prespective. Next, chose one of the picture to put in as the header. I found one picture I took in Bali. Perfect!
So, be in bloom. And hope we could share our stories and words through this page.
Sweet greetings,
Lila
